Snapmaker U1 3D Printer
Honestly, I've been using the Snapmaker U1 for a few months now and wanted to give it a proper run before leaving a review. My first 3D printer was one of the original types that needed self-assembly, metal struts, belt tensioning, and manually levelling the bed with a piece of paper. It was a learning experience, but I was probably getting around a 35% success rate! Fast forward to the Snapmaker U1, and it hasn't missed a beat yet. Every print has been spot on, and I'm genuinely impressed with both the print quality and the Snapmaker software (https://www.snapmaker.com/snapmaker-orca). 100% print success rate so far, optional fuzzy skin to hide the layer lines and give prints a more realistic plastic finish, and minimal waste when swapping colours mid-print. And the best part? It's ALL AUTOMATIC. The printer arrived pretty much 99% assembled, so you can get up and running without spending hours putting everything together and trying to get it calibrated. For context, I'm a design engineer and use CAD on a daily basis. I mainly use the U1 for hobby projects, but also for work to 3D print concepts and models to check designs before committing to anything further. It's been brilliant for both. If this is within your budget and you're looking to get into 3D printing, or even upgrade from an older machine, I'd say it's a solid 10/10 choice. I honestly wish I'd had something like this as my first printer! (And ignore the Cricut label in the background. I'm also getting into T-shirt printing, so there's another review coming soon!)
